Lunar Lander help needed
« on: August 26, 2011, 11:48:09 AM »
I've been playing around with Lunar Lander in Eclipse after following a tutorial on YouTube that helped me get Eclipse setup and running. The problem is I can't get anywhere because I don't really understand Java or Android SDK as its so cryptic. It took me quite a while to get it working but it does looks really good with smooth animation.

Can I make a Lunar Lander in HAC? Is there a demo or example on this?

I'm sorry but it's not yet possible as the current version of HAC doesn't have sprite support and the canvases need optimizing.

However, the next release (v1.05) will as we already have the sprites working and are just optimizing the engine before releasing it.

If you want to see how easy it will be to use sprites in HAC then the Aquarium demo project (number 17) in HyperNext Studio  uses the same HyperNext scripts as HAC. You would have to install HyperNext Studio though to try them out.

Thank you for the link, it took me only 5 minutes to get Hypernex Studio downloaded, installed and to see the sprite demo working. It did take me another 30 minutes though to get it registrered and then find my way around the editor.
Amazing, the commands are so much easier to understand than the Java gobbledygook and if this can work in HAC then i'm on my way. One thing though, compared to Eclipse the Hypernext editor does look very basic with no word coloring to help out.

I've installed HAC and its like being in Hypernext but with lots of Android extras. Now I'm just waiting for the sprite update and some time to play around with it.  Just hope it comes soon.

Good luck zito... I've been on vacation (mexico) but now I'm back and I'm really eager to find out if HAC has the right attributes to make my app... hope it has a flatfile database support (or something similar like that) for my inventory system, which I guess will be the hardest part. I don't need the sprite support so that was ok for me ;) But for your project, i wish you all the best in designing.

Yes you can now, HAC v1.05 has just been released and includes a Lunar Lander project.
